A 39-year-old Briton who lives in Msida, David Lee Rivers, has been remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to the aggravated possession of mephedrone.

He was also charged with committing the crime within 100 metres of a school.

The police yesterday found 180 grams of mephedrone, a liquid drug and other items at the apartment

In a separate arraignment, Hungarian Mihaly Matyas Gergo, 26, of Swieqi, was also remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to trafficking cannabis and being in aggravated possession of the drug.

Mr Gergo was arrested yesterday after the police found cannabis, electronic scales and other items related to trafficking at his residence.
