A car competing in a road race has ploughed into a crowd of spectators in a French village, killing two and injuring at least 15.
The crash occurred during the Var Rally on a road going through Plan-de-la Tour, a small village in southern France.
Police said the cause of the crash was not immediately known, and that at least four of the injured were in serious condition.
Fire stations deployed about 50 rescue workers to the site, and some of the victims were rushed to hospitals.
Plan-de-la Tour, near the city of Toulon, gained international attention when American actor Johnny Depp and singer Vanesa Paradis bought a house there.
