Anthony Borg, 26 and Jonathan Calleja, 27 of St Paul's Bay and Birkirkara respectively, today pleaded not guilty to having broken into a house in Birkirkara last month, stealing over €2,300 worth of items. They also denied damaging the property and commiting a crime during the operative period of a suspended jail term.

Police sources said the two men were caught red handed by the resident of the house who was startled when the two men ran out of his house as he opened the door.

The two were granted bail against a deposit of €2,000 and a personal guarantee of €10,000.
