Two men were yesterday charged in court with the theft of a motorbike.

A 17-year-old from Valletta, whose name cannot be published by court order, pleaded not guilty to stealing a Yamaha 250 from the capital on Thursday. The boy was also charged before Magistrate Doreen Clarke with handling stolen property and relapsing. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm200. In the same case, Charles Gouder, 36, also from Valletta, was charged with handling stolen property, driving without a licence or insurance, committing a crime during the operative time of a suspended sentence, and relapsing. Mr Gouder, who pleaded not guilty, was granted bail against a deposit of Lm100 and a personal guarantee of Lm200. Police inspector Jeffrey Cilia prosecuted. Lawyers Franco Debono and Martin Fenech appeared for the accused.
