A man and a woman were seriously injured in separate incidents as two cars overturned in a matter of 30 minutes early this morning.
The first happened at 4.30am in Imqabba Road, Siggiewi when a Toyota Hilux driven by a 38-year-old woman from St Paul's Bay, overturned as it was being driven towards Siggiewi.
The woman was helped out of the pick-up by Civil Protection rescuers and given on-site medical treatment before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where her condition was found to be critical.
Shortly after, at 5am, a Toyota Starlet crashed into two parked cars and overturned in Mdina Road, Zebbug.
The incident happened as the car was being driven towards Zebbug by an 18-year-old man from Qormi.
The damaged parked cars were a Seat Cordoba and a Daihatsu Sirion.
The man was also seriously injured but the police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
Magisterial inquiries are under way.
