Being a student is not always such a bad deal and the fact that everyone understands your financial woes can come in handy, especially if it means watching films at half-price.

KRS Film Distributors are holding the fourth annual Students Cinema Day on October 29 with six cinemas offering a choice of 20 films.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, with the voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter animating the main roles, coupled with DreamWorks' Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit should provide ample relief from the text books.

All-time classics such as Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley, and Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, directed by Roman Polanski, could actually help you in your revision or bolster your exam paper with anecdotes.

But for mere entertainment and a hearty laugh check out the Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Dukes of Hazzard and Wedding Crashers. Films that are also expected to attract wide audiences are the action thrillers The Cave, Four Brothers, A History of Violence, Red Eye and Goal!

Another attraction is Cinderella Man, the story of Depression-era fighter and folk hero Jim Braddock, directed by Ron Howard and starring Oscar-winning actors Russell Crowe and Renée Zellweger.

Prices are Lm1.15 if under 16 years and Lm1.50 if over 16.

Students over 16 years will be required to produce their student card.

The two cinema screens in Gozo will feature three performances each with the first show at 5.45 p.m. and the last at 10.30 p.m.
