The Turkish Coast Guard has intercepted a Bolivia-registered ship carrying 13 tons of marijuana off the coast of Libya.

The ship was intercepted in the coast guard's first anti-narcotic operation in international waters in 22 years.

Upon boarding, Coast Guard members rounded up the crew and brought out the drug-sniffing dogs.

The Coast Guard said it seized 13 tons of marijuana and detained nine Syrian nationals onboard... all of whom are now destined for Turkey for legal proceedings.
