President Barack Obama made light-hearted comments as he pardoned a pair of turkeys to follow a White House tradition on the eve of the Thanksgiving celebrations.

"It feels pretty good to stop at least one shellacking this November," he said, to the delight of his two young daughters who were assisting him.
