Turkish health authorities have confirmed the country's first case of swine flu in a traveller from the United States, the state-run Anatolian news agency said today.

The male traveller flew from the United States via Amsterdam and was found to be suffering from the H1N1 virus after arriving at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport en route to Iraq, the agency quoted the Health Ministry as saying.
