The women's national team rounded up their commitments in a UEFA mini-tournament in Estonia yesterday with a match against Turkey in Rakvere.

The Turks won 3-0 thanks to three second-half goals after breaking the Maltese girls' resistance to top the group with three wins from as many matches.

Pierre Brincat's team were on a high following an historic victory in the previous match against Estonia. They kept their opponents at bay during the first half and had a couple of good chances to open the score through Rebecca D'Agostino and Catherine Camilleri.

However, they ran out of ideas after the break and conceded three goals in quick succession between the 50th and 61st minutes.

Turkey's goals came from Esra Erol (2) and Burcu Duner.

In the dying minutes, Ylenia Carabott almost pulled one back for Malta but she miscued her shot from an ideal position inside the box.

Malta: M. Zahra (S. Costantino), L.A. Galea (R. Chircop), N. Pace, D. Theuma, S. Farrugia (M. Deguara), M. Debono, C. Camilleri, R. D'Agostino, D. Tonna (R. Cuschieri), Y. Carabott (K. Lia), R. Gatt (K. Saliba).
