Four Tunisians were this afternoon jailed for six months after they admitted in court to causing damage at Lyster Barracks during a riot last Thursday.

The Tunisians, who arrived with other illegal migrants on February 1, were accused of demolishing part of a dividing wall and damaging windows, toilets and furniture with a total value of €1,164.

Ajideh Keib, 32, Jalloul Boukathmi, 24, Mohammed Ali, 22, and Hasan Sheir 23, were also accused of slightly injuring two detention service officers and threatening them.

Meanwhile, a group of eight Tunisians were repatriated today.
