A 55-year-old Tunisian man was charged with human trafficking and raping a Tunisian woman in Malta over the past year.

Mohamed El Herzi, who owns a textile company and travels to Malta very often, pleaded not guilty to human trafficking when he brought the woman to Malta, holding her in Malta against her will, rape, and violent indecent assault on and before September 3, 2014.

He was remanded in police custody.

Police Inspector Joseph Busuttil prosecuted.

Lawyer Joseph Mizzi represented the accused.
