According to Enemalta chairman Alex Tranter, Enemalta cannot be held liable for damages caused by the recent power cuts because these were extraordinary circumstances.

According to The Common European Law of Torts, "someone who suffers damage to the physical integrity of a thing as a result of a power cut is entitled to damages for the restoration costs and lost earnings".

One wonders where the truth really lies.
