Judd Trump claimed his second China Open title yesterday as he comfortably saw off Ricky Walden 10-4 in the final.

Walden made a decent start to the contest and a break of 108 in the fourth frame put him 3-1 up.

But Trump responded with an emphatic comeback, winning eight frames in a row, with a 90 in the first of those his highest break of the match.

Walden then pulled a frame back, before Trump finished things off to reclaim a trophy he previously won in 2011.

It is the 26-year-old’s second tournament victory of the season, adding to his Championship League triumph last month, the fifth ranking title of his career, and his first since he won the Australian Open in 2014.

Trump whitewashed Stephen Maguire 6-0 in his semi-final and looks to be shaping up well for the World Championship in Sheffield, which begins later this month.

Walden suffered his second defeat in a ranking event final within a week, having lost 10-6 to Mark Allen at the Players Championship yesterday week.
