The resignation of Anġlu Farrugia as deputy leader of the Labour Party came at a wrong time. With the election just round the corner, it would have been better for the Leader of the Opposition to have asked for Farrugia’s resignation after the election.

Still, I cannot help admiring both of them – Farrugia being so prompt to hand in his resignation while Joseph Muscat decided that his deputy had behaved incorrectly.

This is what being a gentleman really means – something the Nationalists have yet to learn.
