Truck-driver Marius Camilleri, 53, has been fined €1,300 and had his driving licence suspended for three months after he was found guilty of driving dangerously, slightly injuring PC Colin Spiteri and relapsing.

The case dates back to on October 21, 2004 when a serious accident in Gudja had resulted in traffic piling up, to the extent that Civil Aviation Road in Luqa had had to be closed for sometime and traffic was diverted.

The accused was caught in the traffic jam and PC Spiteri asked him to go down the same road where the accident had happened but he argued that the truck was too large to be able to get through.

The accused was charged with threatening the policeman and driving towards him in a dangerous manner.
