The Gozo Creative Theatre Club will present Trojan Women by Euripides at the Granaries, the Citadel, Victoria, on Thursday from 8 p.m.

Euripides (485-406 BC) is considered to be the most socially critical of all the ancient Greek tragedians. Trojan Women (415 BC) is an innovative artistic portrayal of the Trojan War and a depiction of the barbaric behaviour of Euripides’ own countrymen, the Athenians, towards women and children they subjugated in war.

Jamie Camilleri, Mariella Cassar, Michael Camilleri, Maria Schembri, Andy Fava, Margaret Cassar, Dianne Angie Portelli Galea, George Camilleri and Marlene Saliba will take part. George Mizzi will direct.

Stage design and management are in the hands of Paul Stellini and Jamie Camilleri. Artistic direction is by George Mizzi.

Entrance is free. Seating will be on a first-come-first-served-basis.
