Emmanuel Balzan, better known as Tristan B, has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to defrauding a man of €9,000.

In pleas on bail, defence lawyer Veronique Dalli told the court that her client, who is 33 and lives in St Julian’s had already paid back €2,000 of this amount.

Police inspector Ivan Cilia argued that this was Mr Balzan’s third or fourth case and every time he was let out on bail he committed another crime.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke remanded Tristan B in custody after taking his untrustworthiness into consideration.
