Four female chairmen have been appointed to head industrial tribunals next year. The chairmen are being increased by 75 per cent to 14.
Industrial Tribunals considers cases moved by workers and employees on unfair dismissal and discrimination at the place of work.
Between January and November, the tribunal received 96 new cases, 63 of which were on unfair dismissals, 11 were unrelated to work, 20 were on discrimination and two on other issues related to conditions of work.
The tribunal held 284 sittings and decided 94 cases.
