CCTV footage of an alleged attack on two Africans in 2007 only exhibits violence exhibited by alleged victims, Somali Felix Idisi Oduh and Nigerian Olori Lucky.

The footage was shown to jurors in court today during the train of four bouncers, who stand charged with the attempted murder of Felix Oduh and seriously injuring him with a bottle.

The accused are Roderick Attard, 22, of Kalkara; Anthony Azzopardi, 27, of Hamrun; David Bonello, 48, of Gharghur and Charlton Abela, 25, of Cospicua.

The incident happened outside Fuego in Paceville in 2007.

Mr Oduh and two other men had allegedly tried to walk into Fuego but were stopped by the bouncers. The bouncers told them that there was a party for students but when one of them, Olori Lucky, showed them his student card they were still not allowed in. When Mr Lucky asked to speak to the manager, the bouncers moved him away from the establishment.

A scuffle followed and Mr Oduh was seriously injured in the neck with a glass bottle.

Olori Lucky has already been convicted and jailed for a month after he admitted to slightly injuring bouncer Roderick Attard in the same incident.

Fuego manager Felix Barbara said that he was called to the main gate where Mr Azzopardi told him that there were people who were refused entry but were arguing to get in.

When he arrived, the two men, accompanied by a British woman and another Nigerian, were already in the premises arguing with bouncers.

He told them that the decision by the bouncers was final when the group hurled insults and called him a racist. He said the club employed a Nigerian disc jockey and held student parties called "nations meet nations" so it was definitely not racist.

He said that the bouncers then held arms like a chain and slowly pushed the men back and out of the club when Mr Lucky grabbed hold of Mr Attard and pulled him out of the premises and across the road, throwing him onto a table full of glasses belonging to another nightclub.

Earlier, medical doctor Matthew Cassar told the court that Mr Oduh was taken into the emergency department conscious but was in danger of losing his life due to his injuries. A main vein in his neck was hit but he was not bleeding profusely.

Jurors were shown pictures of Nero Cafe (opposite Fuego) with chairs turned over. No broken glass was seen. The pictures were taken by PS Abela.

During cross examination by defence counsel Giannella de Marco, Police Sergeant Daniel Abela said he was told by Police Inspector Carlo Ellul to take pictures of the damage, and the crime scene was not preserved.

"I was not told what to take pictures but had to ask a barman where the fight happened."
