Several trees were planted across the Ta' Pinu sanctuary, the area known as L-Għolja t’Għammar, in Għarb, Gozo in a major afforestation drive.

Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana was present for the plantation initiative, which saw a number of children planting the indigenous trees themselves. The land is owned by the Gozo diocese. 

Dr Caruana underlined the need to promote an environmental culture among children.
