St Paul's Bay will be buzzing with activity next weekend as the Travelex Regatta hits the seas with three daily races scheduled to keep sailors on their toes.

The Optimist Class Open, cadets and novices will take part. They will be joined by the bigger Laser 4.7 and Radial classes.

Run by the Malta Optimist Dinghy Association, the event qualifies as one of the Malta Sailing Federation ranking regattas with the Optimist being the largest, numerically, of its classes.

The experience will be useful for the ones coming up with the winds at St Paul's Bay notoriously known for blowing strong at this time of the year.

Thomas Zammit Tabone ruled the waves in last year's regatta. However competition is expected to be stiffer this year.

Travelex will be the main sponsor of the event for the third year running.
