Tomorrow, Heritage Malta is holding an open day at Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Temples which the public may visit free of charge from 9am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm).

Several activities for children and adults will also be held throughout the day.

At 9.30am, children aged five to 10 will be shown how they can make their own clay pots the Neolithic way. The activity will be repeated at 1.30pm.

At 10am, a Heritage Malta curator will give a tour of Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra in English. The meeting point is at Ħaġar Qim gate. At 10.30am, children aged eight to 12 will be shown how to prepare flatbread – a snack made with ingredients that were available at the time.

At noon, osteologist and archaeologist Bernadette Mercieca Spiteri will give the lecture entitled ‘Travelling back in time with the Neolithic people’ during which she will reveal intriguing details about research currently under way on ancient human bones discovered at the Xagħra Circle in Gozo.
