Indonesia's marine conservation is aiming to rehabilitate and protect the marine ecosystem from destructive fishing methods, large-scale plunder of living coral and protect natural nesting grounds for sea turtles.

Local park authorities and environmental conservation groups have introduced coral transplantation and harvesting programme to reduce the looting of coral from the seabed and increase fishermen's income.
