Whatever caused the traffic gridlock on the evening of February 12 between Mellieħa Bay and Ċirkewwa, the result was that:

(i) Staff at Paradise Bay Resort Hotel could not make it to work or arrived late as the police did not control the cars as normally happens in such circumstances;

(ii) Night entertainers at this hotel had to cancel their performance simply because they could not reach the hotel in time;

(iii) As a patron of the hotel, I was turned back by police who would not even 'open up' the road that leads from near Noah's Ark to Paradise Bay... but they let the car bearing the number plate GM 13 pass by at 8.20 p.m.

Disgraceful.
