Iraqi forces and Shi'ite militia take over a town near the Islamic State stronghold of Falluja.

"We liberated it", they say, holding the Islamic State flag upside down.

The victory is one step closer for Iraqi forces battling to recapture Falluja.

It has backing from Shi'ite coalition Hashid Shaabi and air support from the U.S.-led coalition.

Falluja was the first Iraqi city to fall to the militant group in 2014.

It is the second largest city still under Islamic State control.
