Two Libyans who live in St Julian’s have been remanded in custody after they pleaded not guilty to attacking two Scottish tourists in Paceville at around 7am yesterday.

Police Inspector Elton Taliana said Ben Hamouda Rashad Ramadan, 18, and El Jadei Mahmud Fathi, 23, were trawling the streets for vulnerable drunk victims, found the two tourists, banged their head together and stole a mobile phone from one of them.

The inspector said the tourists were going about their business when they were attacked.
