An Italian tourist was injured this afternoon in a collision involving a taxi and a truck.

The crash took place on December 13 Road, Marsa, at the junction leading to Regional Road at about 1.30 p.m.

Several parts of the taxi were damaged as a result of a spin which followed the crash with the truck.

The tourist, a 67-year-old woman, was helped out of the taxi by rescuers from the Civil Protection Department and policemen. Her injuries were not serious.

The drivers, a 61-year-old man from Birzebbuga who was driving the taxi, and a 52-year-old man from Pembroke who was driving the truck, were uninjured.
