A 77-year-old British tourist drowned in her hotel’s Jacuzzi yesterday, probably after suffering a heart attack.
Police sources said the woman, Kathleen Crane, was taken ill as she relaxed in the Jacuzzi at the Riza Aparthotel in Qawra. She was holidaying in Malta over the festive season with her husband.
Her lifeless body was found in the Jacuzzi by another hotel resident. Sources said the police have ruled out foul play and are treating it as a natural death.
Duty magistrate Clare Stafrace Zammit was informed about the case and has appointed a number of court experts to assist her with the inquiry.
