The number of tourists that headed to Malta last month increased by four per cent over March of 2014, according to national data.

The National Statistics Office yesterday said the total number of inbound tourists in March was estimated at 101,770. Of these, 75,736 came here on holiday while 11,757 came on business.

The number of nights spent increased by 5.5 per cent.

Tourist expenditure was estimated at €78.1 million – an increase of 6.4 per cent.
