AS Roma captain Francesco Totti suffered a thigh injury in Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Catania, the Serie A club said.

"Examinations we did this morning showed there is a thigh muscle injury but it was not possible to tell the entity of the problem," said a Roma spokesman.

Media reports said Totti, who limped off just after half an hour on Sunday, could be sidelined for between one and two months.

* Torino defender Angelo Obinze Ogbonna survived losing control of his car and crashing into a stream early on Monday with chest injuries, the Serie A club said on their website (www.torinofc.it).

However, Pietro Arvedi, the president of former champions Hellas Verona, is seriously ill in hospital after his car ran out of fuel on the way back from Sunday's 2-1 third-tier defeat at Cesena and was hit by another vehicle while stationary, the club said.
