World Cup star Toto Schillaci will be taking part in the President’s Solidarity Fun Run on Sunday.

The famous player from the 1990 Italian ‘magical nights’ will run along thousand of others from the Attard Presidential Palace to Valletta.

Toto Schillaci is scheduled to arrive in Malta with his family tomorrow at 8.35pm.

The guest star will be joining Francesco Mariottini, an Italian dancer from Italian television show Amici and other local personalities, who will also take part in the run.

Local personalities taking part include Alfred Zammit, John Bundy, Pierre Cordina, Joe Tanti, Nate Darmanin, Clint Bajada, and Ron Briffa.

While runners will leave from San Anton Palace, those taking part in the walk may depart from Santa Venera or Paola Square. Youhg people are invited to walk with President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca from the University of Malta.

One can apply to take part online, at any Banif Bank branch, Eurosport in Birkirkara, San Anton Palace or the Palace in Valletta.

The following traffic arrangements will be in place:

• From 8.30 to 10.30am - Pjazza Antoine De Paule, Paola, will be closed for all vehicular traffic.

• From 10am to 1pm - Vehicles coming from Triq Dicembru 13, Marsa will be diverted through the underpass towards Triq Xatt L-Ghassara tal-Gheneb.

• Various roads will be temporarily closed for traffic.

• All walk routes shall converge at Triq Nazzjonali, Floriana near Portes des Bombes and proceed towards Triq Sant’Anna. When all participants reach Triq Sant’Anna, vehicles will be diverted towards Triq Sarria, Floriana.

Transport Malta encouraged the public to use public transport to Valletta.
