Sandro Ciliberti is the only new face in the committee of Valletta FC after the result of the election was announced on Tuesday night.

Victor Sciriha, the Valletta president, treasurer Michael Palmier and Joe Attard, the club's general secretary, were not involved in the ballot as their two-year term expires at the end of next season.

Giovanni Cappitta, the owner of Mare Blu, Valletta's chief sponsors for the past two years, has been re-elected to the City committee with an overwhelming majority along with several other prominent officials, including Sergio Zampa, Joe Calleja, Paul Spiteri and David Xuereb.

Joe Agius, Kevin Gauci, Vince Tabone and Ottavio Suda also received the club members' backing to serve on Valletta's 13-man committee for another year.

The Citizens, who have handed the reins of the team to Jesmond Zerafa, the former Qormi coach, have already started their pre-season training.

Valletta have announced that Massimo Grima, Renie Forace, Jonathan Bondin and David Camilleri, four players who spent last season on loan with other clubs, have been put on the transfer list.

Floriana, Valletta's neighbouring rivals, have named Johann Said as their new president. The Greens said in a statement that Said's nomination was unanimously approved by the newly-elected committee during its first meeting earlier this week.

Daniel Cordina and John Borg are Floriana's new vice-presidents while Dione Borg has been confirmed in the post of general secretary.

Alex Cassar and Matthew Paris have been appointed treasurer and assistant secretary respectively with Jeffrey Farrugia taking up the role of team manager and club delegate.

The other posts in the Floriana FC committee have been assigned as follows: Peter Agius - assistant treasurer; Anthony Stellini - facilities and club co-ordinator; Joe Cauchi - investment opportunities; Matthew Carbone - public relations officer.
