There has recently been correspondence regarding the expiry date for mobile phone accounts (i.e. the date your account is cancelled if you do not top-up).

There is another side to topping-up that customers should be made aware of: Last week, I wanted to buy a €20 Go card, but none of the retailers had any left, so I had to make do with two €10 cards. Now a €10 card gives you 30 days grace, so having topped up with my two cards, one would expect to receive a total of 60 days. Not so! I only got one day for my second card.

When I phoned Customer Care (an anomaly if there was one) I was informed that as I had topped up with two cards on the same day, I would only receive one extra day on my second card, but had I used it the following day, I would have received the full 30 days. What makes it even worse is the fact that had I managed to buy a €20 card, I would have received an extension of six months to my expiry date.

How's that for customer care?
