Harry Benson, a leading UK champion of marriage and relationship education, will be one of the main speakers at a national conference on the future direction of marriage in Malta.

The conference will be held in the auditorium of St Agatha's School, Rabat, on February 7 from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Mr Benson's charity, Bristol Community Family Trust (www.bcft.co.uk), runs relationship and parenting courses for 1,000 people every year.

He has given over 300 relationship courses and written a book entitled Mentoring Marriages.

He and his wife Kate were on the brink of divorce 14 years ago. However, their marriage is now thriving after 22 years together. They have six children.

The other main speaker at the conference is Fr Paul Galea, a lecturer in Pastoral Psychology at the University of Malta's Faculty of Theology.

Archbishop Paul Cremona, Nationalist MP Edwin Vassallo and Labour MP Justyne Caruana will also address the conference.

Entitled 'Zwieg - Quo Vadis?', the conference is an initiative of Progett Impenn, a task force set up by the Diocesan Family Commission, the Cana Movement and Caritas to promote strong marriages.
