Top Gun made sure of retaining the teams' national championship, organised by the Malta Pool Association, with two matches still to go after a sound 10-4 win last week over Billiards Hall.
Top Gun are now eight points better off than second-placed Taste Good team whose 6-2 victory over Senglea SC proved futile in their bid to wrest the title from Top Gun's grasp.
At the wrong end of the standings, the tussle to avoid the drop is becoming even tighter following wins for Pandora and Kia Motors at the expense of St Michael's and TC Bar respectively. As things stand at the moment the teams to lose their Premier League status will only be known in the very last week of the championship.
The top three in Division One registered comfortable victories to maintain their promotion challenge. Domus Kids beat St Philip BC 10-3, Top Gun B trounced Friend to All 10-0 and Paola Wolves beat Pandora 10-4.
