Tear jerking, heartwarming and oh so Christmassy. Have you seen the cutest, most heartwarming Christmas adverts this year? UK companies try to come out with the best adverts for the holiday season and this competition seems to have become more of a Christmas tradition.

John Lewis and Monty The penguin

It’s the Christmas tale of a boy and his penguin. John Lewis have become masters of conveying powerful emotions through their ads. This one is incredibly cute and will melt your heart. It cost around £1 million to make but will more than 17 million views on Youtube, countless shares on social media and so many people talking about, it was money well spent.

Sainsbury’s

The advert was made in partnership with The Royal British Legion and is inspired by real events which happened 100 years ago. It’s been a source of controversy over the past weeks with many saying Sainsbury’s are exploiting events from WW1 to continue commercialising the holidays. Others say it’s a powerful advert which is raising awareness about what the troops went through many years ago.

Boots #Special Because

This advert might not have been the most talked about outside the UK but it is one of the most powerful adverts produced this season. Known to have perfectly captured a feeling of post-recession Britain, the story revolves around a nurse who just finished her Christmas night shift and is returning home.
