Finance Minister Tonio Fenech did not take questions on the Enemalta corruption saga today, telling reporters their questions would be answered during a press conference at 4pm.

He made the statement during a visit to Maltco Lotteries in Iklin where he was told about the company's investment in its second concession period.

Mr Fenech praised the company for winning a "very difficult" competitive bid and pointed out that the company has already injected €130 million into Malta's coffers.

Mr Fenech used the opportunity to highlight that the European Commission's growth forecasts ranked Malta in second place in the Eurozone.

He said this was a testament to Malta's sound economic policies. It also showed the contrast with most other Eurozone countries where unemployment levels averaged 12 per cent compared to Malta's 6.4 per cent.
