Good morning.

The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.

Times of Malta highlights a comment by the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner, Nils Muižnieks, that Malta should ensure that its ban on abortion does not deprive women of “a range of fundamental human rights”.

Times of Malta also reports that according to a survey, fewer than a fifth of teachers would choose the classroom over a new career opportunity.

The Malta Independent's top story is about the main causes of house fires in Malta, mentioning heaters, candles and chip pans. It also quotes the president of Din L-Art Ħelwa saying the environment's voice is not being heard enough in planning decisions.

l-orizzont highlights a statement by the Labour Party saying that Nationalist MP Beppe Fenech Adami should leave the Public Accounts Committee, given the allegations made against him, rather than criticise its chairman. The newspaper also gives prominence to the alternative routes in Marsa announced by Transport Malta.

In-Nazzjon leads with yesterday's address by PN leader Adrian Delia and his criticism of the government over the deal with Vitals.
