With pictures of Catalonia declaring independence from Spain mainly featured on today's front pages, these are the main stories featured in newspapers:

Times of Malta says a lawyer representing sacked Financial Intelligence
Analysis Unit investigator Jonathan Ferris has slammed an attempt by the Attorney
General to “muzzle his client's voice” by requesting that his affidavit be expunged from official records. It also reports that the remains of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, who was killed by a car bomb almost two weeks ago, have been released for burial.

L-orizzont reports that a man has been jailed for eight years after sexually abusing his daughter. It also says that the General Workers' Union had condemned hate speech, hours after its former boss was roundly criticised for a Facebook post in which he criticised protestors outside Castille.

In-Nazzjon says that a camera installed on Bus Route 103 - which regularly passes through Bidnija - could be crucial in finding the killers of Daphne Caruana Galizia. It also reports that the journalist's body had now been released.

The Malta Independent reports that the prime minister had also rebuked Tony Zarb over his comments. It also says that former soldiers had been cleared over the involuntary death of a Nigerian asylum seeker in 2011.
