The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta says that according to new environmental studies, the tower and hotel proposed in place of the Institute of Tourism Studies in St George’s Bay will double traffic in the area and impact important views. In another story, it quotes the Prime Minister saying that lynching the Police Commissioner will not lead to justice in the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

The Malta Independent leads with the Civil Society Network’s response to the claim that the Nationalist Party had hijacked last Sunday’s national protest. It also says that according to Rainews24, the most credible motive behind Ms Caruana Galizia’s assassination was the Libya fuel smuggling.

In-Nazzjon leads with the Opposition leader’s appeal to the Prime Minister to listen to the country’s call.

L-Orizzont says that PN candidate Wayne Hewitt is describing people close to the Opposition leader as “hypocritical assassins”.
