Good morning. These are the leading stories in today's local newspapers.

The Times of Malta leads with news that the three men charged with the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia could receive a presidential pardon if they revealed everything about the murder - but investigators aren't expecting them to start speaking anytime soon.

The Malta Independent reports that almost 3,200 contravention tickets for driving while using a mobile phone were dished out in the first seven months of 2017.

In a secondary story, the paper reports that the tidal lane system introduced between Marsa and Paola has been removed in preparation of the Marsa junction project.

L-Orizzont looks at historical homicide data, writing that 77 people have been charged with murder over the past 18 years, with 62 murder cases solved by police over that time period.

The paper also writes that the €1 million reward for information related to Ms Caruana Galizia's murder has so far gone unclaimed, with the existing case having been pieced together with the FBI's technical help.

In-Nazzjon leads with the headline 'Panama Papers to blame for the damage being done to Malta', writing that S&D MEP Ana Gomes, who led an MEP delegation to Malta two weeks ago, has repeatedly slammed local politicians exposed by the data leak.
