Good morning. This is a summary of what is making the front pages of local newspapers this Saturday.

The Times of Malta reports on the astronomical number of flu cases reported in the second week of January. The number was twice as large as that in 2017's record week.

The newspaper also reports on a new Frontex mission being launched by the EU, which no longer obliges the EU coast guard to take migrants at sea to Italy.  Insiders say the mission could have big repercussions for Malta, which might find Malta unprepared.

The Malta Independent reports on the government's reply to a rule of law report released by an MEP delegation. The government, the newspaper writes, had reached the conclusion that the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit found no reasonable grounds to suspect criminal activity by Panama Papers-named figures.

L-Orizzont follows on its Friday front page story, saying that employment agency Jobsplus will be taking action against companies which broke the law and refused to employ people with a disability.

In-Nazzjon focuses on an ongoing dispute between the doctors' lobby and government, splashing with the headline "Government also threatens doctors". The newspaper also highlights a debate concerning freedom of expression held on Friday in Valletta.
