The Times of Malta reports that Malta’s tuna ranching industry has come under judicial scrutiny, with two separate magisterial inquiries into the sector’s suspected illegalities under way.
In a secondary story, the newspaper reports on Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s response in parliament to Adrian Delia, who on Monday had given his reaction to Budget 2019.
The Malta Independent focuses on Dr Muscat’s parliamentary speech, quoting the Prime Minister’s Halloween-themed line that the Budget gave “only treats, not tricks”.
The paper also reports that the first phase of implementing a National Suicide Prevention Strategy is in full swing.
L-Orizzont also highlights Dr Muscat’s words, focusing on his remark that the Budget unveiled this month was the “biggest financial package in the country’s history”.
