The following are the top stories in Malta's Sunday newspapers.

The Sunday Times of Malta reports that the government effectively guaranteed Vitals Global Healthcare a no-risk investment in the operation of three State hospitals when it bound itself to pay Vitals €100 million and assume its lender’s debts if it decides to take back the hospitals.

The newspaper also reports how former Opposition leader Simon Busuttil is now shadow minister on good governance. 

The Malta Independent on Sunday reports that a business partner of Keith Schembri, the prime minister's chief of staff, was eying a lucrative government bottle deposit scheme contract. It also reports that the PN has found moles who were leaking information. 

MaltaToday says a giant company producing medical cannabis is considering a laboratory facility in Malta. It also says Adrian Delia demoted his leadership rivals in the shadow cabinet reshuffle. 

It-Torċa leads with comments by the GWU general secretary that threats against workers have to stop. It also reports that the family of a Nigerian girl who died aged seven have accepted help. In a third story, the newspaper quotes the Finance Minister saying an action plan to better deter money laundering has been prepared.

Illum says it tried to contact various bodies abroad, including Interpol, about wanted Russian Maria Efinova but no one could speak about any arrest warrants against her.
