These are the main stories featured in Saturday's newspapers:
Times of Malta reports that the Planning Authority has thrown out an application for the development of six townhouses at a 400-year-old garden in the heart of Lija. It also says that a young man was handed a suspended sentence after admitting in court to having stolen some €54,000 from his mother’s home.
L-orizzont carries a large picture of Nationalist leader Adrian Delia saying he was insisting he would not step down in the wake of domestic abuse claims. The newspaper also reports a counsellor saying that the spike in so-called massage parlours could lead to an increase in the HIV infection.
The Malta Independent also quotes Dr Delia saying the constant attacks from "outside and within" had made him stronger. It also reports that a migrant stranded on board a rescue boat outside Malta's shores jumped into the water after days of frustration before he was rescued again.
In-Nazzjon reports that the government was not aware of the property it had in its possession. It also reports that the chase is on for a Libyan man who had escaped from police custody after he had been handcuffed.
