Good morning, the following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.

Times of Malta reports that parents of state and private school pupils are still in the dark on plans to introduce government-funded school transport. It also reports that Pretty Bay, in Birzebbuġa, was found to have the highest level of microplastics.

The Malta Independent quotes the Malta Road Safety Council saying drivers need time to get used to the new three-lane roundabouts. It also says that an application has been filed for the planting of 700 trees at Ta'Qali as the government prepares a large afforestation project.

In-Nazzjon reports that the government kept quiet about an explosion in machinery at the former BWSC power station in Delimara. No one was injured.

Under the heading 'The people are scared of the PN,' l-orizzont carries an interview with former MP Franco Debono, who blames Lawrence Gonzi for the current state of the Nationalist Party. The newspaper also gives prominence to comments by Joseph Muscat, who on Sunday said Simon Busuttil appeared to have become leader of the PN once more.
