Works at The Point are nearing completion in time for its scheduled opening in a few weeks, according to general manager Edwin Borg.

Located at Tigné Point in Sliema, The Point is the latest and largest addition to Malta's retail industry. Spread across a footprint of 14,000 square metres with retail space over three levels, The Point will feature 45 stores representing some of the most renowned fashion and family brands on the market.

"The Point is the next step in the evolution of retail in Malta," Mr Borg explained. "Many of the brands located at The Point are flagship stores, representing a host of international labels under one roof. At the far end of the mall are the anchor outlets which reflect the continental model upon which The Point has been designed and mapped out.

The wide walkways and common areas as well as a spacious atrium will all contribute towards a greater shopping experience. The inclusion of a major supermarket as one of these anchor outlets makes visiting The Point a complete one-stop shop experience," added Mr Borg.

The Point will boast a car-free environment, making it a safe destination for families. All traffic into the development has been routed underground at Sliema's largest car parking facility which will be available for use by visitors to the shopping, dining and entertainment facilities both within the mall and around the adjacent Pjazza Tigné.

Towards the end of last year, works on The Point advanced considerably when all the mechanical and electrical installations and the finishes of the common areas were being closed off. The current phase, the last in the process, sees the tenants finishing and fitting out their respective stores.
