Week Four, of 23, from the Honda National League at the Eden SuperBowl saw front-runners Fina First and nearest rivals Dab Beer figuring in a four-all draw, producing the second highest teams' series of the night in an excellent display of tenpin bowling.

Aercomms advance to third place in the standings after a convincing 8-0 victory against Duwpa Company, who drop to ninth place as a result.

High-flyers Fina First appeared to have met their match as they clashed with Dab Beer in what turned out to be a thrilling encounter.

Dab Beer piled on the pressure from the very first frame with all their four bowlers breaking the 200-mark for a total of 877 against their opponents' 835 (normally a winning score).

Dab Beer rode the wave of confidence in the next game with Mark Muscat bowling a brilliant 279 to help them on to an 865 total against Fina's 808.

Already 4-0 down heading into game three and bearing a 99-pin disadvantage, Fina First's greater experience came into play as their opponents showed signs of nerves.

Fina remained solid to win the game 867-727, thus taking the series points by 41 pins to force a draw, keeping them two points above Dab Beer at the top.

Fina First took the series of the night with 2,510 pins, including a 644 from Dennis Mercieca. Dab Beer were the second highest team with 2,469. Mark Muscat went on to complete an individual series of 642.

Aercomms came out on top in the only 8-0 result of the night, with Duwpa Company being the unlucky losers. Aercomms, still looking for that elusive first division title, were never under any serious threat as they took all three games 680-740, 718-808 and 799-829.

Aercomms had Raymond Falzon hitting a 647 series.

Ramis picked up a useful 6-2 win over Fina Excel last week to take them level on points with their opponents in a three-way tie for fourth place on 16 points. Although they went down 772-800 in the first game, Ramis went on to win the next two games, claiming the series' points by just seven pins.

It was 6-2 again as Playzone beat Technicolor who are now in the danger zone, although it's still all to play for this season. Doris Camilleri managed a 617 for the winners.

There was another 4-4 draw in an unimpressive contest, which could have gone either way, between mid-table sides Royal Shock and Toons Two. Ray Mifsud's 521 series made him man of the match for Toons Two, while Joe Cassar took a 541 for Royal Shock.

The match between Dream Team and Globalair Travel (ex-www.okmalta.com) was postponed.
