Maltapost was not aware that the organiser of a four-day music festival, postponed at the last minute, had asked ticket holders to collect their refund from the company.

Following a meeting between Maltapost and the festival organiser yesterday it was agreed people would phone a ticket hotline to get their money back, a Maltapost spokesman said.

On Monday the organiser of Legends Of The '60s music festival, meant to start yesterday, issued a short statement announ-cing that the event had been postponed.

Manuel Portelli, the organiser, had said people could obtain their refund from Maltapost from where the tickets were originally purchased. However, the company did not seem to know about this.

However, after the meeting, Mr Portelli confirmed yesterday that he would refund ticket holders who called him or, if they preferred, they could hold on to the ticket and use it when the festival would be held in about three weeks' time.

The festival was meant to be held at Ta' Fra Ben in Qawra, culminating on Saturday with a show by British band UB40's former front man Ali Campbell and Maltese bands The Rifffs and Tribali, represented by Jagged House management company.

The reason behind the postponement was not revealed, with Mr Portelli only saying it was due to "technical and legal problems".

Jagged House plans to take legal action over the postponement.

Anyone who wants a refund can call on 7988 0582.
